Endless Summer – Island Style in Hawaii Part 1

A vacation always feels short, let alone a vacation in heavenly Hawaii. I was in Oahu for the past week and had a great time. This was my second time there, so instead of touring around with a lei on my neck, I dived into some local things with some friends who are from there. They also introduced me to some shopping scenes such as Ala Moana, which is the biggest open air mall in the world. I discovered this brand Brandy <3 Melville which I deeply in love with. There are also many fashion brands, such as UDOWN, T&C Hawaii and Local Motion, that originated from Hawaii. Most of their lines have a contemporary street style: not too fancy, just simple and unique. The designs usually feature some Hawaii specific graphics or some island map shape. I picked 5 that I really like to share with you guys.

Bütigroove

If you feel like truly supporting some Hawaii locally made brands, look into Bütigroove. It is a locally owned, locally produced, muscially, culturally driven brand. They are the exclusive local distributor of Hi Life merchandise. The dots above our "U" symbolize the beats of a heart. One, two. One, two. "Boom Boom". They carry stuff for men, women and kids.

Alter Ego is a lifestyle apparel boutique in Honolulu. They are famous for their original kid afro design t-shirts. They carry shirts for both men and women. Compared to Buttigroove, their design is more cartoony, cutsy and incorporates colors a bit more. Alter Ego carries shirts for both men and women.

In4mation's first store was open in 2002, Mililani, Hawaii. The name In4mation and the “plus” logo mark symbolize a unique bond and signify In4mation’s positive outlook and welcoming attitudes attained by exploring varied paths of life. In4mation’s motto, “I SHALL PROCEED…AND CONTINUE” is a catch phrase taken from an influential hip-hop band that serves as a reminder to follow our chosen paths and to keep on moving forward. IN4M carries mostly menswear.

Na Hoku means "stars" in Hawaiian. Their jewelry design is exotic, tropical and elegant. If you are looking for a fine jewelry brand that will remind you of your Hawaiian experience, but still looks classy when worn in the mainland, look no further.
