Flowers in Your Hair

Photography by the dapper Leonardo Hartomo
"Good flowers are hard to find," I said to a boy once. "You're telling me." He replied as he tucked a yellow flower behind my ear. This same sentiment applies to a lot of things for me and rompers happen to be one of them. I love the idea of them but there are so few good ones out there. So how do we find a romper that is not only flattering but also doesn't remind everyone of overalls? The answer, for me at least, is to find one that could be mistaken for a dress. I was lucky to find this beautiful romper at Forever 21 before it flew off the shelves and I'm addicted. It flows so elegantly in the wind and really shines on a sunny day. I think I already know what I'll be wearing all summer long.

In the Mood for a Lovely View

After this shoot I think I found at least 32 bobbing pins in my hair. I loved how regal this bun looked but it's way too complicated for me to do on my own! This is one of my many outfits for a cold rainy day where I will be spending much of my time indoors. It's really obvious I got the inspiration for the color palette from the grey Seattle weather.  However grey the outfit though, having a skirt with pockets is the most convenient thing in the world! This wool mini and thigh high sock combination overall is a great outfit for staying in but warm enough to run around in the rain in.

In the Mood for Sapphire Skies

Unfortunately the sun has set after a wonderful three day weekend and it's time to float back down to reality. To get reacquainted with the everyday, I put together an outfit that can stand for just that. I love wearing this to work since it still keeps me warm in either the chilly office atmosphere or the cold dreary winter weather. The sweater can be worn more conservatively with a tight neck or casually off the shoulder. I often switch out the boots for a pair of brown pumps on dryer days.

H&M makes a great pencil skirt however, one of my favorite pencil skirts right now is the Vaughn Pencil Skirt from Club Monaco. The front slit makes the skirt walk and move better and more beautifully than skirts with a back slit.

What I'm Wearing

Sweater: Coincidence & Chance Open-Back Cropped Sweater
Skirt: H&M Navy Pencil Skirt (similar from J. Crew)
Tights: H&M Grey Tights (similar from ASOS)
