In the Mood for a Quiet Place

Photography by the fabulous Zooey Ingles

Libraries are easily one of my favorite places in the world growing up and the architectural marvel that is the Seattle Public Library is nothing short of amazing. I have an affinity for old books so I go wherever the first editions are. So much so that I tried to pass a college course using just the first edition of the couse textbook. Needless to say, I did surprisingly well so I wouldn't discount the library when looking for cheap (and beautiful) alternatives to buying this quarter's textbook.

When purchasing a white lace skirt, no matter who the maker is, I recommend also purchasing a slip to wear underneath. I tried on a few skirts before settling on this H&M one and they were all very sheer. White is just not a color made to hide anything.

Give me a cheap dress that fits well any day. I'm not a huge fan of strapless dresses but this dress convinced me to change my mind. Not only did it come with straps but the bodice fits so well that it has no problem staying put when worn without them. The peplum is also a nice touch!

In the Mood for Cherry Blossoms

I bought this skirt closer to the middle of winter and have been waiting for a sunny weekend to finally break it out. The UW Quad is one of the most beautiful places in Seattle during the spring and I thought the colors of the cherry blossoms matched perfectly with this spring outfit. All the chiffon skirts at American Apparel are made beautifully however they are incredibly sheer so I recommend wearing them with tights. Apparently their ash rose color tights are basically as pale as my complexion.

The silk blouse is a favorite piece of mine that I will probably wear for many many outfits to come. I also feel the same way about the necklace which was designed by another local fashion blogger.

In the Mood for a Fancy Night Out

Valentine's day or not, spread your love! Hope all of you guys had a good time. I certainly did :)
My date and I dolled up and went to a nice dinner at Gary Danko. It was my first time there and the food was delicious.

My outfit falls into the "fancy dinner" category from our previous post. I picked my rarely-worn one shoulder ruffle dress (not too many occasions require me to dress up :p).
I love how I can tie a big bow on my shoulder and the ruffles just add cuteness!

I definitely need my dear leather jacket to keep me warm in the cold SF weather.

Lastly, the subtlety of the lace on my shoes and leggings adds a bit of texture and pattern, but not complexity from the overall dark colors. The bright colors come from the accessories and make up: red heart necklace, red lips and red nails :)
