Stay Warm – Winter Coat Picks 2013

Zara 2013 Lookbook
No matter how fabulous you're dressed, a coat will always be something that dominates your outfit. So a beautiful coat is the best investment you can make to make sure you stay warm and look good everywhere you go. Just shopping for them has been a blast. How can we not love something that keeps us so warm and fashionable? Today we bring you our favorite coat trends of the season and hope you enjoy our picks!

Make It Blush
Black or navy blue is usually the go-to color for a winter outfit, but this season I am a big fan of pastel pink. Needless to say no other color presents femininity like pink, and I love the color for it. It also brings a touch if warmth and softness to your winter closet.

Keep it Short
It is nice to switch from big puffy winter coats to something hugs our figure more. And leather is the best material to block the wind and help you stay warm. Also you can take this chance to look like a tough chick. The color-blocking jackets also seem fun to wear!

Plaid it with a Twist
I never really like the traditional red and black alternated plaid. In my opinion they are too "lumber jacky" for girls. But once the color alteration goes lighter: the mix of cream and pink, or simply black and white, I find them very interesting and high-fashion.

Mid-length Yet Not Mediocre
I've been finding a lot of mid-length coats around this season. Although I still want everything cropped, I definitely have come around on this trend for some of these beautiful coats. The length sits well with the ruffle skirt trend this season and also looks great with shorts. I love coats with a little bit more of a harder edge when braving the weather but it doesn't mean that a delicate-looking coat won't keep you just as warm.

Fall is the perfect time to let a warm coat shine in the sun. Mid length coats have been especially popular this year which makes it a bit harder to shop when you're short. I love a slim fitting coat however it's difficult to wear a longer coat without heels. This style is growing on me though and I do love the asymmetrical cut of this coat as well the contrast arms and collar. My favorite part is that there's not much else like it on the street.

In the Mood for a Little Ooh La La

I've always been fond of hats, but this is my first time wearing a beret. Don't get me wrong. I think berets are super cute, but just have had trouble to pull it off myself. Thanks Zoe for helping me styling it this time! The simple tips would be make sure you wear a beret slightly (or dramatically) sideways and don't cover too much of your forehead. Also use some bobbi pins to make sure your hair stays in place.

These high-waisted shorts are 100% cotton so unlike jean shorts, it is really easy to move around in them. You can see how short they are from American Apparel's pictures here (Ooh la la!). If that is too much skin for you, try to pair them on top of some great leggings or tights and then you should be good to go :D.

Thanks Zooey for the photos and letting me borrow that cute beret!
