In the Mood for a Glass Garden

For those of you who are in Seattle or gonna visit Seattle soon, definitely go check out the Chihuly glass exhibit in Seattle center, next to the Space Needle. Jen and I went during memorial day weekend. The colorful glass art work looks breathtaking under the sun. (trivia: Seattle is the second best place in the world after Murano in Italy.)

My outfit has a simple outline but I like the boldness of the bright colors. The layered tank dress is very flowy when I walk. The orange looks bright yet soft when the sunlight goes through the layers. I'm a fan of short heels for everyday wear. These pumps are about 1.5 inches, easy to walk in and the delicate design in the front adds extra points!

In the Mood for May Flowers

The Skagit Tulip Festival is probably one of the most beautiful places in the northwest towards the end of April. The rows and rows of lush vibrant colors always make me excited to take photos... even if it's at 6 a.m. This denim shirt and the locale made me feel a bit like a farm girl but I love the lace detailing on the back and the color blends in well with a light colored skirt or even pants for that matter. I purchased this blouse fairly recently however, anything at Forever 21 has a life span of being on the shelf for two weeks before selling out. It's really a shame when it comes to unique pieces like this because it's hard to find anything remotely similar. I'm starting to become a fan of lace backs though.

In the Mood for Cherry Blossoms

I bought this skirt closer to the middle of winter and have been waiting for a sunny weekend to finally break it out. The UW Quad is one of the most beautiful places in Seattle during the spring and I thought the colors of the cherry blossoms matched perfectly with this spring outfit. All the chiffon skirts at American Apparel are made beautifully however they are incredibly sheer so I recommend wearing them with tights. Apparently their ash rose color tights are basically as pale as my complexion.

The silk blouse is a favorite piece of mine that I will probably wear for many many outfits to come. I also feel the same way about the necklace which was designed by another local fashion blogger.

In the Mood for the Highs and Lows

Only in Seattle can you find yourself amidst perfectly beautiful weather one day and using every speed your windshield wipers have to offer the next. The surprise bursts of sun always make me excited for the coming spring and summer and I've been looking for the perfect high low skirt to flaunt for quite a while now. The one that Forever 21 has to offer is light enough to trail behind you, bright enough to turn heads, and honestly it's something anyone can afford which is probably why it's sold out. Fortunately the high low trend has gotten big enough to find this skirt in any style and any color. I'm not a big fan of animal print but these snake skin wedges go with everything and I love how the print contrasts with the leather.

We decided to start this blog in the dead of a beautiful San Francisco winter which is the perfect setting for my grey wardrobe. I always blend in perfectly with the cold winter weather which is a habit I'm slowly (and surely) beginning to step away from. This outfit mostly encompasses my style habits of choosing garments that convey a soft elegance as well as a hard edge. I love this chiffon blouse because it goes with everything I own! You'll never regret picking one up and at $60, it's hard to beat.
