In the Mood for a Little Winter Sunshine

Photography by the Flashy Zooey Ingles

Sequins have become the new party uniform. However I can't bear to walk into a room of a million girls in sequin dresses and skirts just like mine. So I found a way to rock them during the day and I've been in love with it. Even though normal things like sweatshirts aren't generally glamorous, they are when you add a touch of sequin. I love how suddenly everything I wear looks dressed up and thus is the power of shiny objects.

In the Mood for the Last Leaves of Autumn

One of the few things I miss about living in the U-District is the walkable (or bike-able) distance it is to the arboretum, a perfect place where urban intertwines with nature. Granted this place looks spectacular all year round, fall is when you can see how different trees from around the world shed their green.

Sweater: Chicwish
Shirt: H&M (similar)

In the Mood for the Salty Ocean Air

Photography by the Admirable Michael Shriver

This weekend I got to breathe in the salty air of the open sea and eat all of its contents too! The best meals are truly the ones you catch yourself and if you ever find the opportunity to convince your parents to  retire on a boat, be sure to seize it!

Something you shouldn't do is walk around on a sail boat with 4-inch heels though. The shoes looked fantastic for the camera but I had a few close calls there.

"If you are looking for an alternative of wearing american flag patterned stuff to celebrate July 4th, then consider working with red, white and blue color palette. Pick one primary color and add the other two by accessorizing! This also makes your outfit more wearable for the other 355 days of the year :)"

"I tried to pick out three outfits that would work for events that are more formal, casual, or somewhere in-between. I do like the cheesiness of the american flag patterned clothing. Only on July 4th can you really pull off such overt patriotism and still look fabulous."

In the Mood for a Day Without Rain

Photography by the Exciting Damian Tew

I was so lucky that it stopped raining for a bit of time this Saturday for me to take some beautiful pictures next to the waterfront. I love the clouds and haze on a rainy day but threading through puddles in these fantastic heels is not an easy feat. Needless to say, I was able to keep them white (for now).  It's almost July and we are still seeing a lot of rain in Seattle which is hard to dress for. I want to wear all my summer clothes but I find myself still breaking out the occasional sweater. This outfit is actually warm enough for a rainy day but is also appropriate for summer. Just watch out for puddles!
