Easter Sunday

Easter is a holiday that is often confusing to celebrate. From what I know of it, we welcome Spring with signs of fertility–such as the rabbit and the egg–and reap the spoils of our harvest. So, taking this concept, we paint the eggs beautiful pastel colors and search for them in grass while giving our loved ones chocolate bunnies then we dine on the crops Spring brings. Personally, I love finding eggs just as much as I love their beautiful colors. But since I'm too old for these Easter antics, my celebration of Easter consists of decorating myself in pastels and florals. I hope you enjoy my Easter outfit and we would also love to see some of your's!

In the Mood for the Salty Ocean Air

Photography by the Admirable Michael Shriver

This weekend I got to breathe in the salty air of the open sea and eat all of its contents too! The best meals are truly the ones you catch yourself and if you ever find the opportunity to convince your parents to  retire on a boat, be sure to seize it!

Something you shouldn't do is walk around on a sail boat with 4-inch heels though. The shoes looked fantastic for the camera but I had a few close calls there.

In the Mood for a Dream in Creamsicle

This skirt is simply elegant and moves like a dream. I first fell in love with it when I saw how completely simple yet unique the shape was. The asymmetrical cut gives the skirt a unique view from each side yet the slit balances out the extra length to make a short girl, like me, look taller.

I found out today that my partner, Xiang, will be visiting Seattle next month which is super exciting because we rarely get a chance to see each other. I'm excited for all the blog photo shoots to come!

What I'm Wearing

Blouse: Broadway & Bloom Silk Blouse
Skirt: The Addison Story Asymmetrical Skirt
Earrings: T+J Designs Gold Tassels
Necklace: Forever 21 Leaf Tiered Necklace
Shoes: Vince Camuto Vickiy Pump (4" Version)

In the Mood for a Fancy Night Out

Valentine's day or not, spread your love! Hope all of you guys had a good time. I certainly did :)
My date and I dolled up and went to a nice dinner at Gary Danko. It was my first time there and the food was delicious.

My outfit falls into the "fancy dinner" category from our previous post. I picked my rarely-worn one shoulder ruffle dress (not too many occasions require me to dress up :p).
I love how I can tie a big bow on my shoulder and the ruffles just add cuteness!

I definitely need my dear leather jacket to keep me warm in the cold SF weather.

Lastly, the subtlety of the lace on my shoes and leggings adds a bit of texture and pattern, but not complexity from the overall dark colors. The bright colors come from the accessories and make up: red heart necklace, red lips and red nails :)
