High Beams

I can't let the summer go by without doing at least one post on beachwear, however small. Who knows when the sun will shine so bright again in the northwest so we should go out and chase it before it ends.

I had a fun impromptu beach shoot with my friend Trung. It was nothing serious and there was no pressure which is is exactly how the beach always makes me feel. I love this outfit because it makes me feel like a pin-up or a bathing beauty in these shots. With a crop-top, you get a tiny bit of midriff for sexiness or ventilation depending on how you like to see it. However, after the sun sets on the beach, I can still pair this outfit with a sharp blazer and some heels or nice flats and meet friends at a bar.

A Rose by Any Other Name

A very good friend of mine is getting married in the end of August in Portland. I am one of the bridesmaids and Jen is her wedding photographer. The past weekend I was in Portland for the bachelorette party and Jen took some sweet sweet photos of the girls. Other than the bachelorette party and bridal shower, Jen and I spent some extra days together indulging Portland's delicious food, ginger flavored cocktails, and of course the privilege of tax-free shopping.

I do not wear white on white often (or ever), but this exception is made for the romantic summer at Rose Garden in the Rose City. (Rose City is one of Portland's nicknames where the Rose Festival is held annually every June). Those shorts are actually given to me by my friend Michelle at our clothing swap event. I am definitely a fan of high-waisted shorts. (Check out a previous post featuring AA high waisted shorts in a chillier day outfit). They are very easy to wear; simply tuck in a loose blouse on top, pair with some chic flats or heels, and voila, a casual but sexy outfit. You can dress it up by accessorizing like I did with the neon bracelet.

Easter Sunday

Easter is a holiday that is often confusing to celebrate. From what I know of it, we welcome Spring with signs of fertility–such as the rabbit and the egg–and reap the spoils of our harvest. So, taking this concept, we paint the eggs beautiful pastel colors and search for them in grass while giving our loved ones chocolate bunnies then we dine on the crops Spring brings. Personally, I love finding eggs just as much as I love their beautiful colors. But since I'm too old for these Easter antics, my celebration of Easter consists of decorating myself in pastels and florals. I hope you enjoy my Easter outfit and we would also love to see some of your's!

In the Mood for Monotones

I've always wanted a killer pair of Litas but the problem was that everybody already had them. So I bought the Utopias instead even though they were much more expensive and honestly I've been in Utopia ever since. Not only do these shoes stand out but they make me oh-so tall and are comfortable as well. What more can you ask of platform shoes?
